1. What Taskmato stores on your Mac

Taskmato stores your focus sessions, local tasks, app settings, and information about active and recent tasks. If you use the Obsidian provider, it also stores a bookmark to the vault folder you selected. This data stays in the app's sandbox container at~/Library/Containers/com.richwklein.Taskmato/.

2. Optional access

Taskmato does not request permissions when it launches. It asks for access only when you enable a feature that needs it. The built-in Local provider does not require additional access.

• Apple Reminders: When you enable the Reminders provider, Taskmato requests full Reminders access. It can read, create, update, complete, reopen, and delete reminders. Taskmato may store a reminder's identifier and task details when it is active, recent, or linked to a focus session.
• Obsidian vault: When you set up the Obsidian provider, you select a vault folder. Taskmato can read and update Markdown task files in that folder. It stores a security-scoped bookmark so it can open the same folder later.
• Notifications: When you turn on phase-end alerts, Taskmato requests notification permission. It schedules notifications locally through macOS. Taskmato does not use push notifications or send notification content over a network.

You can change Reminders and notification permissions in System Settings. To change the folder Taskmato can access, select a different Obsidian vault.

3. What it does not do

Taskmato does not have any of the following:

• Network access, incoming or outgoing
• Analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs
• Ads
• Accounts
• Third-party SDKs of any kind
• Access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, Bluetooth, or USB devices

You can inspect the installed app's sandbox entitlements with:

4. Crash reports

If you install Taskmato from the Mac App Store and choose to share analytics with developers, Apple may provide crash and diagnostic information through App Store Connect. Apple controls this sharing through your macOS settings. The Taskmato app does not collect or transmit crash reports itself.

5. Deleting your data

Move Taskmato to the Trash, then delete its container directory at~/Library/Containers/com.richwklein.Taskmato/ to remove the data Taskmato stored. This does not remove your Reminders or Obsidian content. Changes Taskmato already made there, such as completed reminders or edited task lines, remain.

6. Future changes

A paid Taskmato Pro tier, iCloud sync, and cloud-backed providers may be added in the future. They are not part of the current build. This policy will be updated before a feature changes how Taskmato handles your data.
